HEALTH experts have urged smokers across Lancashire to quit smoking.
The warning comes as national campaign Stoptober, which encourages people to stop smoking throughout October, launched on Sunday.
It is supported by Lancashire County Council and NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group, who have asked people to contact their ‘Quit Squad’.
The squad allows smokers to get expert support from trained advisors and provides a range of free nicotine replacement therapies such as patches and gum to reduce the cravings.
While health bosses said E-cigarettes are an alternative that can help people who are finding it difficult to quit.
Anyone wanting to quit smoking should visit the Quit Squad website, http://www.quitsquad.nhs.uk or call 0800 328 6297.
