NURSES from Lancashire took part in a regional conference to discuss ways to cope with ever expanding pressure on the health service.

The Royal College of Nursing staged the regional event in Warrington, with key speakers from the Health and Safety Executive, National Nursing Research Unit.

Regional director for the union, Estephanie Dunn, said: “Members of the nursing community across the North West and the wider country experience conflicting demands and financial hardship on a daily basis, but over the last year in particular pay restraint has piled on yet more pressure.

"This year, we wanted to reflect growing emotional pressure on our members in the theme of the event. We wanted to provide our members with an opportunity to learn more about coping strategies.”
