A TEENAGER who died after a road crash less than a week before he was due to collect his A-level results had gained ‘excellent’ grades.
Clitheroe Grammar pupil Matthew Alson, 18, died on Saturday morning after losing control of his Vauxhall Corsa in Whalley Road, Read.
Yesterday his parents Andrew and Janet Alson went to the Ribble Valley sixth form centre to collect his results.
Matthew, who was due to study international business at a university in the north east, gained a B in business studies, a C in economics, a C in general studies and an A in sociology.
Headteacher Mrs Judith Child said his results were ‘excellent’, adding: “Yesterday was a day of mixed emotions."
