HAPTON Primary School has been recognised for its teaching of English and maths.
The Basic Skills Quality Mark provides a framework for continuous improvement of basic skills in literacy and maths for all pupils.
The assessor looked at how the school tracks children's progress and how it makes sure every child reaches their potential in literacy and numeracy and how effective teaching and learning is contributing to the progress each child is making.
Kate Marney, headteacher, said: “The school is very proud to achieve this award.
“It is recognition of the excellent work going on in school and the children and staff fully deserve it.”
