MORE than 150 pupils came together to get into the festive spirit by taking part in a festive singalong
School choirs, singers, readers and musicians from primary school in Hyndburn and Mount Carmel High School came together for the annual Catholic Schools’ Partnership Carol Concert.
St. Oswald’s, St. Mary’s Oswaldtwistle, St. Mary’s Clayton-le-Moors and Sacred Heart all came together in Mount Carmel’s school hall for the event.
Mount Carmel’s Head Boy Joe Allen and Deputy Head Girl Keeley Battrick welcomed visitors at the beginning of the evening.
A total of 160 pupils in the school choirs sang individually and also collectively and the congregation joined in with many of the carols too.
Headteachers, teaching and support staff from all the schools and approximately 200 family, friends and local residents watched the concert.
A charity collection was also held with £70 in loose change donated towards the building of a kitchen at St. Patrick’s school in Kenya.
