A HEADTEACHER has announced she is leaving a Darwen primary school after two and a half years.

Kathryn Coiffait, principal at Sudell Primary School, will be leaving at the end of July.

In a letter to parents she said she was leaving due to a change in her personal circumstances.

She said: “I am very grateful for the understanding and support I have received from Aldridge Education, who have allowed me to end my post earlier than the usual notice period.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sudell and take away warm memories which I will always cherish.

“I am very appreciative of the fantastic support the school receives from families and the superb staff team, who have become my second family.

“Most of all, I want to say thank you to the children at Sudell who have made me very proud and ensured that every day was full of fun.”

Helena Lewis, who is currently head of primary at Abraham Moss Community School in Manchester, will join the school as interim principal from September.

She said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Sudell Primary School as part of Aldridge Education and look forward to working with the whole of the Sudell family children, families and staff in achieving success.”
