A PRIMARY school in Burnley has welcomed guests from a national charity to give a talk to help keep children sage from abuse.
Casterton School in Thames Avenue were visited by staff from the NSPCC who carried out a presentation as part of their ‘speak out, stay safe programme’.
Along with their mascot ‘Buddy’, staff presented an assembly to pupils and also carried out workshops with students in year five and six.
A spokesman for the school said: “The NSPCC’s work in schools will help encourage conversations about staying safe.
“Through child-friendly, interactive assemblies and workshops their specially trained staff and volunteers will gave our children information about how to keep themselves safe from harm.”
The day was carried out by as part of the NSPCC’s nationwide scheme open to every primary school age child in the country.
