A FORMER Burnley College student has reached new heights after taking part in her first flight with Monarch Airlines.
Amy Carr, a travel and tourism student, took the skies as part of dream to become a member of the cabin crew.
While a sixth former at the college she featured in a national advertising campaign promoting careers in hospitality.
Amy applied for a role with Monarch Airlines in June and started training for cabin crew in October.
She said: “In my first week I have flown to Venice, Barcelona, Lanzarote and Malaga twice. It has been amazing and have loved every minute of it.
“The support I received from my tutors to get me into this top career was amazing and I can’t thank them enough because it has been an experience to remember.”
Simon Davies, head of sports, business and the services, said: “It is fantastic to see outstanding students like Amy progress into exciting top careers and we are very proud of her achievements with Monarch Airlines after only a year at the company.
“We work hard to ensure our students receive the best possible opportunities for progression and this includes working closely with leading employers."
