SEWING machines, cardboard boxes and face paints at the ready, World Book Day 2017 is almost here.

Pupils across Lancashire will once again be getting dressed up as their favourite literary heroes for the event tomorrow.

MORE TOP STORIES:

Last year we were inundated with fantastic images and this year we hope to include your efforts in a picture gallery on the big day.

We will also put as many as we can in the paper on Saturday, March 4.

To inspire you, here are six of our favourite costumes from last year's World Book Day (see above).

Hundreds of cut-price and free books are up for grabs and Book Aid has paired up again with the event to help children overseas.

The annual celebration of authors, illustrators and reading is now in its 20th year and is marked by more than 100 countries around the world.

We'd love to see your pictures again.
