TEACHERS and pupils celebrated after receiving a good report from government Ofsted inspectors.

The staff and 39 children at St Stephen's Primary School, Rock Lane, Tockholes, were inspected and were given a Grade 2, or Good, score.

The school was praised for leadership, teaching and its overall effectiveness and highlighted support for pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities.

Barbara Cocken, headteacher, said: "There was no resting on our laurels after the excellent 2003 report and this one is even better.

"We will continue to aim even higher to provide the very best."
