4:32pm Tuesday 19th April 2011 in Tockholes
A village pub is set to reopen after a refurbishment.
Blackburn-based Three B’s Brewery has spruced up the Black Bull in Brokenstone Road, Tockholes.
The pub shut in 2009 but brewery owner Robert Bell has installed a microbrewery at the back in a bid to bring in punters.
It is a welcome boost to East Lancashire’s pub industry after dozens of closures in recent years.
Mr Bell said: “We were looking at pubs in the Blackburn area, but this is an ideal location for us, and looks out over the whole of Blackburn as well.”
Beers brewed by Three B’s include Autumn Gold, Bee Blonde, Bee-thrifty, Stoker’s Slake and Tacklers Tipple.
The pub will reopen on Saturday, April 23 at 5pm.
