A POLICE officer from East Lancashire out-muscled his colleagues at a national competition and raised over £800 for charity in the process.
Jon Walsh, who lives near Tockholes and works as a police constable at the support unit in Colne, won in his weight class for the fourth year running at the Police Sport UK Power Lifting Championships, at Bournemouth University last November.
As a result he raised £818.33 for Pendleside Hospice, based at Reedley.
Jon, who has been powerlifting for five years, last year won the English Powerlifting Championships, the Lancashire Powerliftng Championships and gained third place at the British Powerlifting Finals.
Pendleside Hospice provides care to people suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
