A TEENAGE pianist from Tockholes has been treated to a week at a music school by Darwen Rotary Club.
Lucy Nolan, 16, got the chance to attend a week-long summer school course at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester.
She successfully applied for the Rotary Club’s Lloyd Award for Initiative — an annual scheme open to students between 16 and 18 who attend a local school or who live in Darwen and go to school elsewhere.
Lucy, who wants to become a professional musician, entertained members of the club with a short piano and harp recital at a meeting last week.
Darwen Rotary Club’s president John Macnama presented her with a certificate to mark her achievement.
