TOCKHOLES Road in Darwen will close on Tuesday, December 3.
It is being shut to all traffic so that BT can have access to the carriageway to carry out box cabling.
The road will shut from 9.30am to 3pm for the telecoms engineers to do their work in safety.
Blackburn with Darwen Council will bring in a diversion route during the time of the closure.
The area closed stretches from a point 500 metres east of the junction with Sunnyhurst Lane for 350 metres in a south-easterly direction.
It will go via Tockholes Road, Sunnyhurst Lane, Earnsdale Road, Harwood Street, Vale Street and back on to Tockholes Road and vice versa.
The council will maintain pedestrian access at all times.
Residents and motorists with queries about the closure should contact Capita Symonds on 01254 273515.
