THE headteacher of a Tockholes primary school has banned the community from using the school field.

Dominic James, the head at St Stephens CofE, told parents in the school newsletter he was banning unauthorised use after a combination of constant out of hours use and poor weather had left the field almost ‘unfit for school purpose’.

He said: “Former pupils have been using our field at night as they haven’t got anywhere to go. Unfortunately, the field can no longer sustain such constant use as it is becoming cut up and bare in numerous places, particularly following such heavy rainfall.”
