A TOCKHOLES youngster just missed out on making it through to the finals of a national competition.

Nine-year-old Jennifer Stevens was hoping to follow in her mum’s footsteps by starring in a talent contest, but was ‘pipped to the post’ at the regional finals of the TeenStar competition in Manchester.

Mum Michelle, who starred on the classic ITV show Opportunity Knocks in the 1970s, said Jennifer ‘did brilliantly’ to make it through to the last eight in Manchester, despite being the youngest competitor.

She said: “It was only her second time in front of an audience and she learned an awful lot. And she’s said she’d like to enter again next year.”
