A 21-YEAR-old man who was found lying on a grass verge with back and head injuries may have been hit by a car, police have revealed.
Officers are investigating whether the man had been in collision with a vehicle before he was found close to Raikes Bridge, Lower Darwen, at the bottom of Stopes Brow.
They said that the man remembers walking along Stopes Brow towards Fore Street, after visiting family at Shadsworth.
He then walked passed the Hindle Arms, at the bottom of Stopes Brow, but has no memory of what happened after that.
The man was found at around 6.30pm on Tuesday.
