A ROAD was cordoned off by Blackburn police after an injured man was found slumped on the roadside.

Officers were called to Branch Road in Lower Darwen shortly after 6.30pm yesterday, after a passing motorist reported seeing a man on the grassed area underneath the railway bridge.

The man, who had a significant injury to his back, told officers he could not remember how he got there.

He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police are investigating whether the man was assaulted or was injured by accident.

Hope his initials aren't RFJ. hehe.

Uncle Jacks has the same effect on me. Falling over, memory loss, less cash than when you left home, cold kebab in ur pocket etc...

Seriously tho, hope he's ok and wasn't assaulted.

The police have cordoned off the area around the railway bridge in Lower Darwen, where Rakes Bridge meets Fore Street....not Branch Road!! Another bloop by the telegraph's map reader!
