THE annual Hoddlesden Grand Summer Picnic may have to be cancelled if volunteers cannot be found.

The free event, which has been held in July or August for seven years, is organised by the Hoddlesden Millennium Green Trust.

It usually attracts around 120 people, mostly families.

Last year there was a jazz band, a children's story teller, boules, a raffle and face painting.

The trust is looking for extra volunteers to help with planning and organising, preparation of the green and erecting the tents on the day.

To help, contact Michelle Wild on 07711 340361.
