A FUNDRAISING night in memory of the late councillor Fred Slater raised £900 at Hoddlesden Conservative Club.
The money will go to the mayor's charity, the Make a Wish Foundation, as Fred was due to be mayor this year but died last July.
Fred's widow, Coun Jacqueline Slater, said: "It's a nice way to make sure Fred isn't forgotten. I knew what he would have said - that the people of Hoddlesden have done us proud."
Another fundraiser in his memory is at Darwen Golf Club this Saturday.
Among prizes up for auction are a flat-screen TV, Porsche hire for a weekend, and a stay at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester.
Organisers hope eventually to raise more than £1,500.
