A RETIRED security officer died of a cancer which spread from his lung to other organs, an inquest heard.

The hearing in Blackburn was told that Edward Hughes Moore, 60, of Glencarron Close, Hoddlesden, was admitted to Royal Blackburn Hospital for investigation of long-standing low sodium levels and increasing confusion.

He underwent tests, but his condition continued to deteriorate and he died.

Dr Mohammed Aslam, who carried out a post-mortem examination, said a malignant tumour of the left lung had spread to the liver, pancreas, and other organs.

Coroner Michael Singleton recorded a verdict of misadventure.

I have to agree with Mike on this one, as tragic a story it is it seems to be missing a lot of other possibly interesting points and the reporter gave up or it was just used to fill in a space, either way it's not good reporting.
