Man 'punctures lung' as car crashes into tree

A MAN who was a passenger in a car that crashed into a tree was today in a stable condition in hospital.

The car had been travelling along Johnson New Road, Hoddlesden, at 3.35am today when the driver lost control on a bend.

The passenger suffered head injuries and a possible punctured lung.

He has been placed in a medical coma in hospital, but is in a stable condition.

The driver also suffered minor injuries. Both men are in their early 20s.

Police shut the road for several hours while the crash scene was investigated.

Yes, unlucky but no doubt going too fast. Sympathy to both their families who have probably had their Christmas's spoilt.
