A motorist who faced magistrates for drink-driving on Friday was arrested in Darwen later the same day and found to be more than three times the limit.
Lee Matthews, 29, of Worsley, Manchester, admitted driving with excess alcohol and was made subject to an interim ban after magistrates heard he gave a reading of 122 against the legal limit of 35.
Elliot Taylforth, prosecuting, requested an adjourn-ment so details of the appearance before Wigan magistrates could be obtained.

"If he was disqualified at that hearing then a charge of driving while disqualified may have to be made," said Mr Taylforth.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Matthews had taken the day off work to attend court and had travelled on to Darwen to catch up with some old friends.
"It was his intention to stay the night but he got separated from his friends and foolishly decided to drive home," said Mr Taylor.
