Double-day closures Darwen town hall

Darwen town hall will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday, August 27 and Tuesday, August 28.
Children’s centres and libraries will also shut on the two days.
The town’s leisure centre will be closed on the Bank Holiday Monday but will reopen on the Tuesday. Darwen Market will also close for the Bank Holiday Monday but will reopen the following day.
Bin collections will continue as normal, as will community transport.
The Tuesday closure is a result of staff taking unpaid leave as part of a £1million contribution to Blackburn with Darwen Council’s savings following budget cuts.
Careful consideration has been taken to ensure key frontline services to the most vulnerable people in Darwen remain unaffected.
