Charity party to remember Madison Allan
4:00pm Thursday 19th July 2012 in Darwen

REMEMBER Madison Allan
A CHARITY party night is being organised to mark what would have been Madison Allan ’s eighth birthday.
The Lower Darwen schoolgirl’s favourite colour of pink will be splashed across the Whitehall Hotel in Darwen, and there will be a three-course meal, a ‘fun casino’, ‘sweet trees’, and singing from ex-Coronation Street star Scott Wright.
The night is aimed at raising money for the Maddi’s Butterflies charity, set up by her family to give other children with cancer a treat.
So far, three poorly children have been helped – one received a PlayStation Vita, one will be visiting Chester Zoo, and another has had his family’s train fare to a London show paid for.
Madison’s mum Samantha, of Lord’s Crescent, Lower Darwen, said: “It’s a night to celebrate the first birthday since she passed away, to celebrate her life, and also to raise vital funds.
“We need the money to keep going – if a child wants a wish, then we can’t just sit on it. Also, the charity commission would shut us down if we weren’t doing what we set out to do.”
The birthday bash will run from 7.30pm on Saturday, September 22, the day before what would have been her birthday.
On the Sunday, her family will dine at her favourite restaurant, Frankie and Benny’s, and will go to her grave to release balloons.
Samantha said: “It will be a hard time for us all, but I’ll be so busy organising things that I won’t have time to think.”
Madison died from an aggressive Neuroblastoma tumour on Boxing Day, having fought the cancer since being 10 months old.
Tickets are £35 each or £320 for a table of 10. A non-refundable deposit of £20 for single tickets and £100 for a table is required.
To purchase tickets, call Samantha Allan on 07875741555 or Alison Foster on 07817237876, or email maddisbutterflies@ aol.co.uk Anyone who is unable to attend is asked to consider donating an auction or raffle prize for the evening.
