A PUBLIC meeting, where people will get the chance to see the Environment Agency’s plans to restore Jacks Key Reservoir, will take place at St Barnabas Primary School today.
The Lancashire Telegraph revealed last week that the agency hopes to turn the site back into a beauty spot for people in Darwen.
The open meeting, taking place in the form of a drop-in session, runs from 3pm to 8pm.
The plans would see water reintroduced to the spot, which is popular with dog walkers, and safety measures will be made to prevent nearby homes from being flooded.
There are also hopes to turn the site into a habitat for wildlife, although the idea of introducing fish has been ruled out.
If plans are given the go-ahead, it is unlikely that work will begin until next year.
