WORK on 100 new homes in the Queen Street clearance area of Darwen will begin on March 28.
Orchard Grove, which is being built by Twin Valley Homes, will include a mixture of houses and bungalows, 71 of which will be for sale, 18 for rent, and 11 for shared ownership.
Sunnyhurst Councillor Dave Smith said: “It’s really good something positive is being done on this land.
“The houses that used to be here were dreadful, and now this offers something for everyone.”
