A POPULAR Darwen bar is undergoing a £75,000 refurbishment.
Workers have this week been toiling through the night at the Bridgewater Inn, Church Street, to make sure it reopens by 5pm on Friday.
Manager Adam Hulme said: “We’re having a new bar, flooring, dance floor and DJ booth.
"The front of the pub will be burgundy, and we’re creating more secluded areas.
“People say it doesn’t need doing, but we have a reputation to uphold.
“It’s a very exciting time, and because we anticipate being even busier with food, we’re taking on more staff.”
