A COMEDIAN who regular appears on Mock the Week will be performing in a town centre venue next week.

BBC Radio Four host Angela Barnes will be taking her 'beautifully structured show' Fortitude on the road in Darwen next Friday.

The former health and social care worker first made her name in 2011 after she won the BBC New Comedy Award and became a finalist at the 2011 Latitude Festival New Act of the Year competition.

Since then the 41-year-old from Sidcup has become a regular on a number of BBC TV and radio programmes.

It will be performed at Darwen Library Theatre, in Knott Street, on Friday from 8pm.

Door open at 7pm and tickets will cost £12 full price and £10 for concessions.

The show is catered for people aged 14 and above.
