BLACKBURN'S MP, Kate Hollern, has aimed to meet with Transdev over the merging bus routes.

Route number 24, operated by Transdev subsidiary, The Blackburn Bus Company, will be merged with the number four route, creating one route that runs every 20 minutes between Blackburn and Green Lane through Mill Hill.

A campaign had been set up to try and stop the services from merging.

Mrs Hollern said: "I am aware of a number of concerns about the changes to the Number 4/24 bus service, as being implemented by Transdev, which means significantly reduced services and cuts off vulnerable elderly residents at Brackendale from regular services.

"Clearly this impacts on a number of bus passengers.

"I understand that the changes have been compounded by poor reliability and late running buses.

"I have and will continue to take up these concerns up directly, and I am seeking a meeting with the senior management of Transdev and will be seeking either further amendments to the timetable or a return to the previous provision."
