A 20-YEAR-OLD man who had previously 'exploited' his vulnerable grandmother was found at her home despite being banned by a restraining order.

Blackburn magistrates heard Bret Lee Hargreaves told police he had nowhere else to go and knew his grandmother would take him in.

Hargreaves, of Audley Range, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to breaching the order. He was made subject to community supervision for nine months with a nine months drug rehabilitation requirement. He was also made subject to a curfew between 9pm and 7am for six weeks.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said it was the fourth breach of the order which had been made by Burnley Crown Court in December. She said the grandmother was described as vulnerable and easily got confused.

"The order is to protect her from the defendant who has exploited him in the past," said Miss Allan. She said the police were informed that he was staying at his grandma's house and when they attended saw him jump over the fence at the rear of the house and start running off.

When he was interviewed Hargreaves said his mother and sister would not let him stay with them because of his drug problems but he knew his grandma would let him stay.

Ian Huggan, defending, said an addiction to Spice was the problem his family were referring to.

"His grandmother has been desperate to offer him help and there was no complaint made by her," said Mr Huggan. "He wants to move away from spice and has been getting help from Inspire."
