A GIRL has suffered a head injury after being hit by a car.
The incident happened at around 10.15pm on Saturday (October 7) when a group of teenagers were walking along Railway Road, in Darwen.
It is thought one of the group, the 12-year-old girl, came off the kerb and went into the path of a moving red Toyota Yaris car.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene following the collision.
The girl was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital for treatment to a head injury and is in a stable condition.
Sgt Lee Harris from the Road Policing Unit said: “We need anyone who may have seen this incident to come forward and speak to us.
"They can call us on 101 quoting incident reference 1628 of October 7.”
