THE parents of a newborn baby have been left devastated and ‘forced to move out their house’ after burglars broke into their home twice and stole two cars.

Thieves broke into the home of Chloe and Jordan in Clement Street, Accrington on Tuesday evening last week while they were out visiting family with their week-old baby.

They stole sets of car keys and a back door key and waited until the family came home in their Ford Mondeo before stealing the vehicle, which also had passports and a car seat inside.

Following the incident the family felt ‘vulnerable’ in the home and moved in with Chloe’s mother Victoria Barnes-Hudson in Darwen.

However on Sunday thieves returned to steal the couple’s second car, a Volvo V70, which was later found burned out at King George’s Playing Field in Accrington.

Chloe, 25, said they would not be returning to the Clement Street house and are looking for a new home and car.

She said: “It’s been really stressful and really hard. We’ve been forced into changing our entire lives, we had a plan.

“We’ve been forced to move and buy a new car. We won’t go back into the home, it’s not safe for our family. We feel violated.”

The couple returned to their former home to remove valuables following the second car theft.

A crowdfunding page has been set up by Chloe’s mother Mrs Barnes-Hudson to replace the chassis of the baby’s pram lost in theft.

The family bought it as part of a Mamas and Papas pram package and set a £500 target to replace the stolen items.

Mrs Barnes-Hudson, 48, said: “It’s quite upsetting about the pram. That was the one thing they really saved up for.”

Police confirmed they were continuing to investigate the burglary and the theft.
