DARWEN food festival is ‘growing nearer’ by the day.

The festival , which is set to be ‘bigger and better than ever before’, will take place on Saturday, October 7.

As the three-day-market is set to be demolished this month, organisers are planning to make good use of the extra space.

Event organiser Samantha Taylor said: “We had the meeting to determine how we would work the festival around the demolition of the market and manage the space we have available.

“We want to make it bigger and better than ever this year.

“We’re going to utilise the six-day market and fill it with stalls serving amazing food.

“There will also be live music provided by local band.

“We want to create a proper food festival atmosphere.”

Businesses wanting to get involved in the festival will require public liability insurance and a health and safety certificate.
