TWO schoolgirls from Blackburn and Darwen have gone missing, police say.

Jasmine Thornber, 12, from Blackburn and Michaela Wotherspoon, 12, from Darwen left their home addresses Sunday afternoon to meet each other.

They didn’t return home as expected and so we are concerned for their safety.

Sgt Kevin Jones from Blackburn Police said: “Jasmine and Michaela are vulnerable given their young ages and so we are doing everything we can to find them.

“It may be that they have stayed at a friend’s house who might not know that they are missing. The parents of these girls are extremely anxious to be reunited with their daughters.

“If you have seen them or know where they are, please contact the police immediately.”

The pair are believed to be in the Blackburn area, specifically Galligreaves.

Jasmine is described as white, 5ft 3ins, of slim build with long dark hair. She was last seen wearing a black crop top, black leggings, a black jacket and white trainers.

Michaela is described as white, 5ft 8ins, of slim build with long dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a royal blue Adidas top, light blue leggings with white trainers.

If you have any information that could help us find them, please call, 101, quoting log number 1717 of July 16th.
