STARS from some of TV's biggest shows will take part in a charity football match later this month.

Britain's Got Talent stars Ella Shaw and Hollie Steel will line-up alongside comedian Tez Ilyasm Lewis Hepworth from TOWIE, Sean Pratt from Ex on the Beach and The Malones from Googlebox and a host of other stars at AFC Darwen's Anchor Ground.

Football Hero, a group that helps to raise funds for charity partners such as Bullies Out, have organised the event.

Andrew Watton, Jasmin Iddon and Kevin Iddon, all from Blackburn, founded the group and organised the event.

Kevin said: "We looked at a lot of venues in the area but we chose AFC Darwen because we got a good vibe and they really wanted to host the event.

"They have been really helpful whilst making us feel very welcoming.

"I hope that this event will help to raise the profile of the football club in the local area as well as raise money for charity."

Last year a similar event called 'Soccer Burnley' was held at Burnley's sports centre but Andrew has said he predicts this year's to be bigger than the previous.

The Football Hero team are looking to make this an annual event.

Mr Watton said: "Last year around 50 celebrities appeared at the Soccer Burnley event but this is completely different.

"Around 85 celebrities will be attending this year, with four teams playing in an 11-a-side tournament.

"We have cancelled the offside rule to make it more fun and entertaining for players and spectators alike."

There will be five games played in total with each lasting 40 minutes.

Jasmin said there will be opportunities to interact with the stars and take selfies with them.

She said: "I urge people to come down because you will have the chance to interact with these celebrities like never before.

"Ex-Burnley and AFC Darwen football player Dennis Hill has agreed to pop his boots on and will be playing.

The football extravaganza will take place on Sunday July 23 from 1pm to 7pm.

The event starts at an hour early for VIP ticket holders.

General admission will cost £5 and tickets from can be purchased on the day or online at http://tiny.cc/fhvip.
