A CHARITY walk is to be staged this weekend organised by a village club.

The trek will go from Hoddlesden Conservative Club and will stop at the Old Function Room in Watery Lane, the Craven Heifer and the Ranken Arms before going back to the club.

The event will raise funds for East Lancashire Hospice.

Organiser and club manager Simon Wilkinson said: “We’ve got a few members who are associated with the hospice.

“We wanted to organise something that everyone could get involved in including the older members who perhaps don’t want to climbs mountains and things for charity.”

The walk will set off at noon on Sunday and will be followed by a performance from blues band The Stumble at the Harwoods Lane club.

Tickets are £5.

There will also be a chocolate hamper raffle and food on offer.
