TWO creative businesses in Edgworth have won awards from a Dragon’s Den star.
Veemcdee and Prenderland Books both received accolades from investor and retail businessman Theo Paphitis.
Both businesses got the prizes after entering the Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday Competition.
Veemcdee was founded by Vanessa McDermott who specialises in creative play for children.
She offers creative packs by post to families across the country and has also transformed a dark basement room at The Barlow into a children’s art studio.
Prenderland Books was founded by April Prendergast to inspire children to read and have more fun with books.
The website also encourages people to have book swaps.
The online business provides ideas for how to get more enjoyment out of books and a book ladder challenge for children.
The Small Business Sunday Competition runs on Twitter each week where Mr Paphitis asks businesses to tweet him about what they are doing and he then selects six winners from thousands of entries.
