POLICE officers are hoping to reunite a number of items with their rightful owners after they were recovered during a break-in investigation.

Officers were called out at around 3am on May 22 to Edmund Street, Darwen, to reports of two people seen stealing items from a car.

Two males – a 15-year-old from Darwen and a 13-year-old from Blackburn - were found on nearby Starkie Street and arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

Both males have now been released on bail while officers continue to conduct enquiries.

This includes tracing the owner or owners of a number of items the males had in their possession when arrested.

They include:

·         A pair of black binoculars

·         A black and silver Carrera sat-nav

·         An Adapter memory card

·         A 70cl bottle of Smirnoff vodka

·         A USB stick

·         A gold and white spotty glasses case containing a pair of sunglasses

·         A black Cushtie pillow

·         A blue cushion

PC Rick Moore, of Blackburn Police, said: “We believe someone will be missing these items and we would like to trace them so they can have their property returned to them.

“If you recognise them as yours, or know who they belong to, please get in touch and let us know.”
