A 20-YEAR-OLD woman bombarded her ex-partner and his new girlfriend with threatening and abusive Facebook messages.

Blackburn magistrates heard Charlotte Bury threatened to fire bomb the other woman’s home and she was concerned about her and her children’s safety.

Bury, of Tythebarn Street, Darwen, pleaded guilty to harassing Charlene Carey and Terry Gaskin. She was made subject to a curfew between 7pm and 6am for six weeks and ordered to pay £150 criminal court charge, £85 costs and £60 surcharge.

Enzor Geldard, prosecuting, said Miss Carey and Mr Gaskin received 150 messages between them in a day including threats to kill Miss Carey’s kids and burn the house. She said it had been two months since Bury and Mr Gaskin split up but she continued to send abusive messages.

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client and Mr Gaskin had been involved in a volatile relationship.

“He is here to support her today but it is a matter of public record that he has been to prison for assaults on her. Miss Bury has found their separation difficult to accept even though she realises in her heart of hearts that is the best thing for them.”
