A TAKEAWAY which was hit by a severe blaze earlier in the year has reopened and expanded after months of repair.
The back room of Tasty Village in Bolton Road set on fire back in February and was severely damaged.
Zuber Ghani, who runs the takeaway, said he was relieved that the repair work had finished after eight months and they were now able to continue delighting the tastebuds of the town in a bigger way than they did before.
He said: “Local people were devastated when it shut down because people would come here for their lunch.
“They really felt like they had lost something in the community so I’m pleased that now after waiting for a long time we have reopened and now the takeaway is a big shop with a seating area.
“It’s like a mini restaurant really. Before it was very small and now it’s twice the size, so in a strange way the fire was a blessing.”
