CHAPELS Brow in Darwen is to be closed for six hours next month.

A total of 30 metres will be sealed off for traffic to allow for the replacement of a manhole frame and cover.

The closure will last from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday, September 4.

An order for the closure is to be made by Blackburn with Darwen council legal director David Fairclough.

A diversion route will be put in place and signed to enable vehicle traffic to get round the seal of area.

The alternative route for cars and lorries will be via Winterton Road, Olive Lane, Quaker Lane in one direction and via Quaker Lane , Olive Lane, and Winterton Road in the other.

Pedestrian access to the whole of Chapels Brow will be maintained at all times.
