A LAMP POST was knocked over on Tuesday when a car lost control in Darwen.
Police were called to Lomax Street in the town at around 11am when the car collided with a lamp post and two parked cars.

Officers say that the occupants of the car fled the scene shortly after.
Resident John Bramham, 27, who lives in the street, said: “The concrete lamp post has been completely knocked down by the car.
“A few cars have been damaged and the car involved looked a mess.
“It was very lucky that it wasn’t around the time that children are walking to school. It gets very busy and someone could have easily been hurt.”
A police spokesman said: “We were called to Lomax Street at around 11am after we had a call from a member of the public saying that a car had collided with a lamp post.”
Witnesses are being asked to call police on 101.
