WHITEHALL ward councillor and borough Liberal Democrat group leader David Foster is on the mend.

He collapsed twice before the last month’s Blackburn with Darwen full Council Forum meeting on April 23.

After a visit to his GP, the 66-year-old went straight back on the election campaign trail.

His wife and fellow ward councillor Karimeh, who had to take him home after he fell ill 15 minutes before the meeting said: “He is recovering.

“He still has to go for some more tests on June 16 .

“David is very stubborn and went straight back to campaigning for the party.”

Cllr Foster was diagnosed as suffering from gastroenteritis .

He said: “I am on the mend.

“I’ve got to go for more tests because the doctors were concerned about me losing consciousness.

“It hasn’t happened again.

“I should be fine.”
