A 25-YEAR-OLD Blackburn man breached a non-molestation order in favour of his mum because he believed she was the victim of domestic violence.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Paul Robert Smith went to his mum’s house after receiving a call from his younger brother.

But instead of being pleased to see him his mother phoned the police.
Smith, of Lynwood Avenue, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to breaching a non-molestation order.
He was made subject to community supervision for nine months with rehabilitation and alcohol treatment requirements.
He was also subject to a Friday and Saturday 8pm to 8am curfew and ordered to pay £145 costs and £180 criminal court charge.
Paul Huxley, defending, said: “Smith went round to make sure his mum was all right,” said Mr Huxley. “With hindsight it was a foolish decision.”
