The council has launched a survey to explore parents’ beliefs around alcohol, asking questions about what age they let their children drink and where and when they allow them to drink.

The survey also asks parents why they think teenagers should be allowed to drink alcohol – they may believe the home is a safe place or they can teach about responsible drinking.

It includes sample campaigns for parents to comment on. The results of the survey will be used to help develop public health messages about drinking.

Parents of children aged 12 to 17 are being asked to take part in the survey.

Alternatively surveys can be completed anonymously.
