CRIME fiction author Roger A Price is due to appear at Darwen Library tomorrow to talk about his newest novel.
The event is set to take place at 2pm where Roger will talk about his latest book, A New Menace.
A contemporary crime thriller, it touches on his experiences of covert surveillance and double dealing.
It also draws on lies and deception as well as being a double agent.
Roger will reveal how fact is sometimes more shocking than fiction and real life police work that is rarely spoken about to the general public.
Born in Bury and raised in Whitley Bay, Roger has lived in Lancashire from the age of 13.
He served for 31 years with the Lancashire Constabulary, the Regional Crime Squad and the National Crime Squad.
He retired in the rank of detective inspector in charge of a covert unit in Lancashire, which received local and national acclaim for its successes in engaging those who openly sold Class A drugs, such as heroin and crack cocaine.
Roger now writes fiction full time and has written one other novel, By Their Rules.
A New Menace is the sequel to By their rules but is written to be a standalone novel.
Both books can be bought from Waterstones and WHSmiths and are also available online. To reserve a place at Roger’s talk, email Darwen.library@blackburn.gov.uk or call 01254 706021. Admission will be £1.
