YOUNGSTERS from a Darwen school got ‘dolled up’ as they pretended to be mannequins in a shop window.

The group of 14 students from Darwen Aldridge Community Academy helped out doing jobs for the Age UK charity shop in Market Street yesterday.

They carried out tasks such as working on the tills and giving out leaflets.

But they also became models for the day, standing in the shop window to advertise clothing on offer in the shop.

Age UK chief executive Vicky Shepherd said: “We are delighted to work with DACA again and appreciate the students giving us new ideas and giving up their time to help us promote our charity shop which supports services for local older people.”

Today, students from DACA will be at the Sudell Road school to show people how to join Facebook, tweet on Twitter and talk on Skype.

Places on the social networking crash course are limited.
