DARWEN Aldridge Community Academy in Sudell Road will host its annual Pink Passion fundraiser on Thursday.

But in a change from the usual format, this year’s event will also feature something for the boys.

There will be the usual ‘Dress To Kill Cancer’ fashion show sale, with 75 per cent off well-known brands.

And to ensure there is something for all the family, there will be a ‘Knockout Cancer’ assault course, duel and sumo wrestling contest for children aged six and above.

The event, which also features a health and wellbeing market, gifts and food, will raise cash for both the Boot Out Breast Cancer and Orchid Fighting Male Cancer charities.

DACA assistant principal Michelle Billington said: “We wanted to offer something for the whole family.

“There will be special guests who have survived cancer to talk to people and there will be advice about having a healthy and active lifestyle.

“That is the message I want to promote and we just want to get as many people through the door as possible.”

Tickets, available from reception, cost £3.50. The event runs from 5pm to 8pm.
