Jealous Helmshore man assaulted his wife

A 'JEALOUS' father of three assaulted his wife after he found her dressed as if ready for a night out and wearing fishnet tights, a court was told.

Burnley magistrates heard how Lee Green, 39,'grabbed at' the tights Naomi Green had on in the incident at the former marital home in Helmshore. Green, a self-employed gardener and ground worker, had struggled to cope with the breakdown of his marriage to his wife of more than a decade.

The pair had separated, but were still living under the same roof for financial reasons.

Mrs Green was in court 'to support' her husband, who she had not wanted to end up with a criminal record and for whom she was said to still have feelings .

The defendant, of Thorn Bank, Bacup, admitted three counts of assault. He was given a two year conditional discharge, with £50 costs.
